The Band

PAUL BENFIELD is a Colorado native who picked up bass and guitar back in the 80s.  He is a space freak, currently working on ARTEMIS, NASA’s next lunar landing missions.  Distractions, when time permits, include muscle cars (one does actually run), backpacking, and volleyball. Paul lives in Morrison, Colorado, in the shadow of Red Rocks, the world’s greatest concert venue, with his wife and two sons.

A Littleton, CO native, SCOTT NASON played in an original heavy-alternative band in Fort Collins called Supernaut, where he recorded his first album. He then parlayed his love of music and a business degree to purchase a musical instrument store in Littleton called Music Go Round. Through the store Scott became very involved in the local music scene, putting on battles-of-the-bands, hosting clinics with national musicians, donating gear to local high school music programs, and got to play and hang out with a ton of the best local musicians in the state. After 21 years, he sold the store. (It’s still one of the best shops in town!) Scott lives in Highlands Ranch with his wife and two kids.

LEON TRAVIS flew an A-10 “Warthog” and saw combat in Afghanistan. Prior to flying single-seat jets, way before that, he was kidnapped twice, once by each parent! They just loved him that much. No really! He loves them, too, they were just hippies going through some stuff, y’know? Is it really kidnapping if it’s a parent? An attorney would know. Leon is currently an attorney and proud father of two sons he never kidnapped. He loves to lift weights, play disc golf, and savor the cosmic funk of starlight as frogs chirrup.

LEN VLAHOS is the former guitar player and co-songwriter for Woofing Cookies, a college-radio-chart-topping punk pop band from the 1980s. Len is also the published author of five novels for young adults, including The Scar Boys, a punk rock coming of age story inspired by his experience touring with the Cookies. He’s also the former owner of the Tattered Cover Bookstores. When he’s not chillaxing with his wife and two sons, you can find Len at local rinks in Metro Denver, stinking up the ice as a legendarily bad adult league hockey player
